CEREC: a crown in one visit
CEREC lets us make a crown in the office, typically in a single visit. The doctor photographs your tooth with a special 3D camera, designs your restoration in the CEREC software, and the unit mills it from a block of ceramic with diamond burs. The finished restoration is bonded to your tooth.
- Time: made in one visit, saving you time away from work and family.
- Comfort: no temporary crown.
- Appearance: strong, tooth-colored ceramic that closely matches your natural tooth.
- Fillings: in some cases CEREC can also make ceramic or composite fillings.
Today I had a tooth prepared for a crown. With the advanced technology available at Bush Dentistry, I walked out with a new permanent porcelain crown in place. They make me feel like part of the family!
Digital impressions
No more goop, gagging or discomfort. With the iTero Element intraoral scanner, a hand-held wand scans your mouth in as little as two to three minutes and renders an accurate 3D model of your teeth and soft tissue, on screen right away. Digital impressions can be used for crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays, bridges, implants and Invisalign.
Digital CT imaging
Digital CT imaging gives quick, comfortable and precise 3D images for:
- Dental implant planning
- Wisdom teeth extractions and impacted teeth
- TMJ treatment
- Airway assessments to screen for potential sleep apnea
- Full facial and jaw images to assess pathology
Digital X-rays and the intraoral camera
Digital X-rays save time, give clearer images and expose patients to less radiation than traditional X-rays.
The intraoral camera, about the size of a dental mirror, shows every part of your teeth in detail: cracks, plaque, cavities next to fillings and excessive wear. You see everything we see on a monitor, so you can make an informed decision, and problems found early mean less invasive and more cost-effective treatment.
